It’s getting to that time of the summer when the weather is an unpredictable variation of cold-humidity. And you know what that means? Summer is ending. I know, I know…. No one wants that, at least not yet. But it’s bound to happen sooner or later, am I right? Especially when you live in Minnesota.
With the end of summer approaching that means a slight change in clothing to correlate with the weather. To cope with those changes, I thought I’d share three of my favorite pieces for that “end of summer” vibe without having to sacrifice summer fashion completely. You can pair these pieces together or change it up depending on the day and occasion. I chose to style them together for this post.
My three pieces include:
1) An over-the-shoulder top.
2) Fashionable "mom jeans."
3) Neutral or beige sandals.
This yellow, over-the-shoulder top is my go-to end of summer shirt. I LOVE the summery vibe it gives yet it’s still a transitional piece; perfect for early fall. I chose to knot the front of the top to give the look an edge but you can also opt to tuck the shirt in or leave it out. Also, over-the-shoulder tops have been trending for the past two years (as of late). I bought mine at Old Navy but you can find many styles and affordable pieces at H&M, Forever 21, ZARA and Target.
Currently, I’ve been really into high waisted “mom jeans.” They’re so comfy and timeless. I absolutely adore the casual look it presents. Also, my favorite detail on the jeans are the frayed hems at the bottom and the darker shade at the end of the pants. It’s so chic and adds a hint of edge which I really like! I bought mine at Old Navy but you can also find a good pair at your local thrift store, Target, Gap, or Forever 21. You can also choose a pair of Levi shorts or other denim shorts if it’s hotter out.
Finally, I’ve always had a hard time finding comfy yet sensible summer shoes. By the time August rolls around I’ve always had to throw away sandals that wore out within two months or gone back and forth between multiple sandals for comfort. But lo and behold! I found my FAVORITE sandals from Target. These are so comfy and go with everything due to its neutral color. I can dress it up or dress it down for any look. They’re also super easy to slip on so I don’t have to worry about straps. You can find similar sandals at Payless, DSW, or Charlotte Russe.
What are your end of summer favorites? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading.
